The campsite is nestled in a peaceful corner of Cricketing Bottom, South Farm. Situated within the South Downs National Park we are fortunate enough to be surrounded by beautiful downland, close to the historic town of Lewes, and only 5 miles from the stunning Sussex coastline.
There are just 10 pitches on the campsite. We do not permit campervans or caravans.

The campsite has drinking water taps, 2 warm water showers, 6 composting toilets, sink for washing up
There are no bins so please take your rubbish home with you The two local Waste Recycling Sites are located in Lewes and Newhaven.

Through the summer, from Thursday to Sunday, the coffee bar will be open outside the Maize Maze from 10am.

Things to do near Lewes and the South Downs
A short walk from the campsite along the South Downs Way brings you to the quaint village of Rodmell where you can enjoy a drink or a meal at the wonderful Abergavenny Arms. Continue along the South Downs National Park towards Alfriston or Black Cap.
If you're after a little bit of luxury, peace and quiet, gorgeous sunsets, stargazing, campfires, walks on the South Downs, paddleboarding/kayaking on the River Cuckmere, visits to the coast, Brighton, and the historic town of Lewes, then come and stay with us at South Farm.
Monks House (National Trust) and The Abergavenny Arms are both in Rodmell.
We are on the South Downs Way - you can walk towards Eastbourne or Winchester!
The River Ouse is a short drive or a 20 mins walk through the quaint village of Southease. At the river you can launch your own paddleboard or kayak on the river.
The beautiful Sussex Coast is a short drive. Newhaven is just 10 minutes drive where there are shops, great fish and chips and Newhaven Fort which is a popular visitors attraction. Go 5 minutes further East to Seaford for a lovely wide beach, closely followed by the beautiful of Cuckmere Haven and the Seven Sisters/Beachy Head; or go West towards Brighton & Hove (30 minute drive along the coast road or inland via the A27).
The historic town of Lewes is a 10 minute drive, where you can visit the Norman castle, Anne of Cleves house, or many of the independent shops, cafes and restaurants.
Where to eat and drink
Our wonderful local, The Abergavenny Arms in Rodmell is family and dog friendly, and just a 20 min walk from the campsite, along the South Downs Way.
The Juggs at Kingston (approx. 1 hour walk along South Downs Way) is another fabulous pub; and there are many other good pubs and restaurants in Lewes.
L'Isola Buona Italian deli in Newhaven is a wonderful place for a coffee or to shop their Sardinian produce.
Also in Newhaven, The Drove Brewers Fayre is running some fantastic food and drink offers and is a great place to grab a budget-friendly bite to eat
